Finding the balance between the demands of your everyday life and your personal well being is always a challenge. Sometimes after a stressful day at work, it’s hard to switch off, your mind is still working overtime and sometimes it stays this way right up until we head for bed feeling exhausted. For me, the best way to switch off after a hard day is to run a bubble bath, light a candle and enjoy some quiet time just for myself. Often it’s only 15 min out of my day but it’s a time where I can reflect on what’s really important to me and gain a better perspective on life. Afterwards I apply scented body lotion and put on my favorite pajamas. My whole energy is changed, I no longer feel exhausted but refreshed and relaxed. My bathroom has always been filled with lotions and potions and for years I was confused about beauty products. How is it that products designed to do the same thing can vary so much in price? Are expensive products really worth the extra money? I started researching products and their ingredients, a little fanatically I admit. However the more I researched, the more resentful I became at the hundreds of dollars I had wasted on disappointing products and I became extremely fussy about what I would apply to my skin. This obsession turned into the desire to create my own range and so Bethany Cosmetics was formed. When creating the products, my main focus above anything was quality. I spent a year working with a biochemist, perfecting every product until they were all just right. I wanted gels that wouldn’t dry out or irritate my skin, and body lotions that I could apply and then get dressed immediately with out having to stand around waiting for them to absorb. We chose natural ingredients where ever possible and all the products are hand made. When it came to packaging, I wanted to capture the way I felt about the products so it had to be pretty, fresh and feminine. I wanted the boxes to be so gorgeous you would find it hard to throw them away. I’m thrilled with the results, and I can confidently say that my products are the best I’ve ever used. They really do help to give you that little bit of pampering that every woman needs.
